ABA Publishes First of its Kind Business Courts Primer

The ABA’s Section of Business Law just published The Business Courts Benchbook: Procedures and Best Practices in Business and Commercial Cases. A link to the new publication can be found here. This is the first book dedicated to, and focused on, best practices in US business courts.

The Benchbook includes chapters on business court jurisdiction and creation, case management, discovery management, electronic discovery, court adjuncts and appointments, a number of recurring legal issues in business courts, settlement and ADR, trial, and the use of technology. It also includes resource lists for judges and lawyers, as well as an appendix of forms.

The principal authors are business and complex litigation court judges themselves.  Business courts historian and Fineman, Krekstein & Harris attorney Lee Applebaum, is one of the co-authors of the preface and first chapter.
