Delaware Governor John Carney has nominated attorney Nathan A. Cook to replace retiring Vice Chancellor Joseph R. Slights, III.   A link to the announcement can be found here. The nomination now goes to the state Senate.

For those who have followed the history of business courts, you know that before serving as a Vice Chancellor, Judge Joseph Slights was a driving creative force in developing the Delaware Superior Court’s Complex Commercial Litigation Division, and served as a judge on that docket at its inception.  He has authored articles on the Delaware courts as business courts, and contributed to the Business Courts Bench Book.  He has also been highly involved as a leader in the ABA’s Section of Business Law.  We wish the Honorable Joseph R. Slights, III all the best in his future endeavors.

The appointment was unanimously confirmed by the Delaware Senate on June 22, 2022.
