A new administrative order has been issued for the Commerce Court of the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas. This order is effective January 1, 2026. https://www.courts.phila.gov/pdf/regs/2025/12-of-2025-AD.pdf
Of note are the self-executing disclosure requirements, the requirement that parties submit a joint case conference memo, increased emphasis on the use of judge pro tempores for settlement and discovery disputes, more liberal criteria for the selection as a judge pro tempore, more aggressive case management procedures, and a stated desire to foster the participation of less experienced lawyers in case proceedings.
Thank you to Jonathan Hugg of Eckert Seamans for bringing this to my attention.
