On June 8-9, 2023, Maryland’s judiciary will be putting on a judicial training program for business and technology judges (and Maryland’s appellate judges), at the Maryland Judicial Center in Annapolis.
The topics will include:
- Highlights of other business courts from leading business court judges from New York (Hon. Timothy Driscoll) and North Carolina (Hon. Michael L. Robinson).
- The trial judges’ role in handling business disputes; the duties of officers, directors and others in control, and statutory, contractual and judicially created remedies and their limits (Hon. Steven J. Gould).
- Reading corporate and other business financial statements, understanding Securities and Exchanges Commission filings, decoding business valuation principles (Prof. J. W. Verret).
- Expert witness issues (Brett Ingerman, Esq.)
