Former U.S. and Australian Judges Appointed to Singapore International Commercial Court

Judge James Michael Peck, former bankruptcy judge of the Southern District of New York, was recently appointed to serve as an International Judge on the Singapore International Commercial Court (SICC). Justice Peck will serve on the SICC for the next three years.

Likewise, Justice James Leslie Bain Allsop, former Chief Justice of the Federal Court of Australia, was appointed to the SICC for a three-year term.

The SICC was created in 2015 within the General Division of Singapore’s High Court to resolve international commercial disputes in a forum that is both neutral and strategically located within Asia. The SICC combines international arbitration best practices with international commercial law and offers a bench composed of experienced, specialized commercial judges (both local and international).
